Oscar Glamour

Okay, so this is admittedly old news by now, but what good is a blog on style without a little Oscar commentary, right? That's why we'll keep it simple. Who missed and who impressed. I will add, however, that there's been some criticism about the glamour being on the low side this year. Personally, I am a fan of all this understated elegance we're seeing lately.

Who Missed: Amy Adams

Don't get us wrong. We LOVE Amy Adams, and this L'Wren Scott dress was to die for, however, the hair and the necklace... um, not so much. The dress is enough sparkle on it's own and same goes for the necklace (gorgeous by itself, but too much with the dress).  The hair pulled back, and some large emerald or sapphire earrings would have done much to amp up the wow and sophistication factor. With a dress like that, it needs to stand on it's own.

Who Impressed: Anne Hathaway

Out of her numerous wardrobe changes, our favorite look was Anne's Archival Valentino. Radiating in this red gown with luscious train, she couldn't have looked more happy and excited to be there. And, she looked comfortable in it. Which, we can't say of of everyone else.

What do you guys think?

  1. From the front, sure, Anne's Valentino is fabulous. I HATE the train, specifically the poof under her rear. She looks like she's pooping fabric.

I liked the one with the long beaded fringe.
