simple style sunday: hunt club

Hi Lovies. As another Monday morning approaches, we were inspired to cozy up in pieces that felt all together "hunt club" - like we should be headin' out with the boys for an afternoon of sport.

WEAR: Fisherman's sweater and knee high camel leather boots.

Check out these other woodsy-inspired pieces:

Fisherman's sweater from asos

Another L.L Bean Signature we covet

Lovely acorn hair accessories from Woodland Belle

We're not sure why, but we're dying to have one of these Elmer Fud like headpieces. This bomber, from Cabella's.

Happy hunting... closet hunting that is!

Happy Birthday Beautiful!

This past weekend was a much needed respite. We soaked up every minute of good food, spa relaxation and the company of good folks. Ringing in our birthday, we celebrated with our fabulous mother (stealing the watch right off her wrist!) and endless surprises and delights.  Punctuated with melt-in-your-mouth pumpkin pecan pancakes and slices of red velvet, this weekend couldn't have been sweeter, or more beautiful (see: office flowers delivered by dad).  Did we mention how much we love October?

Below a few pics of our fabulous shopping trip finds and lovely birthday/weekend surprises.

No girl can go wrong with a little Chanel No 5.
Loved how this compliments our existing bottles on an antique silver tray.

The Men's Timex watch we snatched off our Mom's wrist.  See also JCREW pearl arm bangle.  LOVE.  Compliments our Sunday  "Eau de Prep" look  perfectly

Fun monkey slippers!

Our weekly vintage stomping grounds, ReThreads, yields this amazing vintage Coach find

Another vintage find. Cozy 70s vest.

Classic, investment piece. Coach boots.

Perfect for stomping through crunchy leaves

Had to take a picture of these. They were just too gorge not too.

wish it could be fall forever!

beauty makeup monday: the fishtail

Inspired by the unkempt locks seen everywhere, we decided to try out the fishtail for ourselves. Our mane tends to be a little unruly at times, but we think this was a good first attempt. First, a few of our inspirations.

TRY: The fishtail. A more sophisticated twist on the schoolgirl braid. Edgier than it's french counterpart.

Now for ours...

What do you think? We know. A little practice is in order.

simple style sunday: Eau de prep

This weekend, fall truly rolled in. Complete with windswept hair, cool fresh air and crunchy leaves beneath our feet - it reminded us of our wide - eyed and bushy tailed collegiate freshmen days, when looking the part was just as important as sitting in lecture hall. Reminiscing, we scored this awesome polka dot sweater on a clearance rack... at... dare we say, the outlet mall.

WEAR: Eau de prep. Polka dots, cream and high heeled loafers. All we need now is a leather book bag and a fabulous boy to carry our books. :)

Did you notice we have a new look? A few things are shall we say, "under construction," but we're digging where things are going.

simple style sunday: fall closet shop

It's amazing how liberating off-loading your old digs can be. Our fall closet clean out happened this week and last with an amazing amount of space created. We re-discovered amazing hidden fall pieces amongst the hangers and picked up few thrift shop vintage finds. We even crossed a few pieces off the wish list!  Here's to shopping your fall closet.

Italian ASH suede and patent booties. We love the buckle detail.

Wool camel DKNY trench. Yum!

La Dolce Vita camel leather boots.

Faux fur vest. Of course.

Vintage silk emerald green blouse.

Polka dots!  A must have this season.

cream Joie cozy sweater wrap, gap tee and gold disc necklace.

Camel boots, again. Can you tell we love the leather on these!

Great geometric vintage knit!

Fabulous vintage YSL navy, cream, and brown tweed blazer.

Well, this wasn't exactly in our closet, but what would October be without a little pumpkin pecan butter, delish!
